GYG appoints franchisee for new Umina Beach store

The fast growing Guzman Y Gomez Mexican Kitchen franchise operation has opened a new store in Umina Beach appointing the Brand Family,  Andrew, Kate and Peter Brand as franchisees.

The new store on the corner of West Street and Bullion Avenue in the centre of town is the second store for the Brands who own the Fountain Plaza Erina store.

The Erina store which opened In 2013 employs around 65 people and is open 7-days from 8.00am to 9.25pm.

The Umina store will initially employ around 60 people and will open similar hours.  It will seat 40 customers and Mr Brand is aiming to introduce al fresco dining when permitted.

Meanwhile former Erina store Manager Francis Verriest has been appointed Manager of the Umina store.

All staff that have been engaged are undergoing training at the Erina store.

Mr Andrew Brand said that staff training is a top priority at all GYG stores.

Being a local family, the Brands believe in supporting the community and sponsor junior sports including rugby league, rugby union, basketball and netball.
