New owner for Vales Point Power Station
The days when the Central Coast was a significant electricity generation region for NSW may be returning.
Two recent announcements concerning the Vales Point and Munmorah power stations have highlighted their continuing value as centres of electricity generation and distribution.
Munmorah is also home to a 667 MW gas-fired power station, Colongra Power Station, opened in 2009 at a cost of $500 million.
Colongra, was acquired by Snowy Hydro in 2015.
In mid-September it was announced that Vales Point Power Station owner, Delta Electricity, had agreed to a 100% sale to Sev.en Global Investments (Sev.en), a family owned investment group from the Czech Republic with a core focus on the Energy and Mining sectors.
