State Government confirms site for Gosford campus for UON but no funding
The NSW Government has confirmed the University of Newcastle as the preferred partner to deliver a Gosford university campus on the former Mitre10 site in Mann Street, Gosford. An announcement two years in the making.
11th April saw Minister for Infrastructure and Cities the Hon Rob Stokes MP announced the campus.
Where’s the money? - Minister Stokes’ announcement, while welcome, failed to mention UON’s proposal for the Mitre10 site plus $18 million in funding to match Federal funding of $18 million plus 600 student places in the 2019 Budget.
Meanwhile the State Government continues to pour billions of dollars into Western Sydney for education, sporting and a range of community facilities .
